Review Victoria's Secret Perfume - Bombshell EDP

I have heard many people many saying they have a signature perfume and prefer to wear only that every single day. Ofcourse, with that you know who walked into the room even if you are not watching. But personally I feel I get bored with one single perfume. I love variety in perfumes. Although most of my favourite perfume would fall under the same category. For Ex: I love perfumes that have floral , aqua and citrus nodes, very sweet perfume are a totally no no. You will always find Jasmine, Aqua , Citrus and Lavender in most of my perfumes. Too much sugar, honey are no for me.

I had picked Victoria's Secret Perfume - Bombshell body mist since a year. I accidentally happened to pick this at a beauty store. I loved t so much that I had to get my hands on the perfume for sure. I had been searching for it everywhere, in the stores and online. But it wasn't available in India at all. I wanted to get it from abroad. I mentioned about this to my hubby a couple of times. On Valentines Day this year, he requests his friend to get it from Dubai. And here is what my Valentine Gift was. Adorable isn't it?

Review Maybelline LipPOLISH - Glam 7

I know ....I know.... I know..... I am soooo late at putting up this post. Almost every other blogger must have already reviewed this product ( In almost every color available) . No no I am not in competition. I just share what I love with you guys. The idea of my blog is share my idea about the product and how it looks on me and how it may help you buy the stuff for yourself.

Anyway coming back to product. I am absolutely in loveeeeee with this lip gloss. Its one of the best I have ever used. Please ...please ..please....Don't hate me for this but I like it more than MAC Lipdazzles too. I find them too sticky for my taste. And that a total put off for me. I cant stand sticky lip glosses.

Review - Perfume Gucci by Gucci EDT

Follow me on Facebook

Here I come with my second review of a perfume. By now you must have guessed I was running out of perfumes and I went on a shopping spree to buy fragrances.

My latest buy is Gucci by Gucci. Its not the Gucci classic perfume. I have that one too and review it sometime. I was very happy with my Giorgio Armani - Acqua di Gioia , which is my anytime go to perfume for day. Its more Aqua and Jasmine , so apt for day and for spring/ summer. As the winters set sails I was looking for a more intense, floral, woody and spicy fragrances for the gloomy days.

Review - Perfume Acqua di Gioia Giorgio Armani for women - EDP

Follow me on Facebook Facebook

Getting ready for a date/ meeting/ office/ wedding reception/ party??

My checklist

ü  Dress/ Outfit
ü  Footwear
ü  Perfume
ü  Jewellery
ü  Makeup
ü  Bag/ Purse

Who doesn't love perfumes? And being a woman you can't resist it.

I believe a good perfume is an accessory. One cannot walk out of the house with it. In the checklist Perfume is certainly in the order of priority given above. It's not about smelling bad. A good shower can save you from that embarrassment but a good perfume can make you the subject of discussion or even the attraction of the day. It often turns out to be an ice breaker in a gathering or a topic of gossip by the envious noses. Well most girls will agree :)

This is my first attempt at reviewing a perfume and I have expressed my take on this perfume. I am not the subject expert but I can give my honest opinion as a user.

Read on....

Official mix of fragrance (Acqua di Gioia  by Giorgio Armani) is:

Top notes - Citrus, Mint
Middle notes - Jasmine Pink pepper, Peony
Base notesViginia Cidar , French Labdanum, Sugar

What I smell ( In order of strongest note)

Citrus , Mint , Jasmine, Sugar, Cedar

My take on the perfume:

This is the first time I picked a Giorgio Armani Perfume for myself. I was almost running out of day wear perfumes and I had to get one asap. My general go to, day wear perfumes are Davidoff Cool Waters, Isimiyaki Classic, Victoria's Secret Bombshell. (Yes, by now you have guessed I like aquatic, floral and citrus as my favorite notes.

The moment I sniffed this perfume, it was mine. Its totally my kind of perfume. Some may find it a little strong at the base note but I love the perfume to sillage well at least at arms length. That's the reason I picked an EDP instead of EDT. Very few perfumes are found in EDP. This is one of the very  few EDPs I have used. I am completely sold that I am an EDP person specially for a day wear.

The perfume stays on for a good 12 hours easily on me. Well the top notes fade away after about couple of hours but the base note stay on for long. This I think works superb for me. I always has complaints that my perfumes do not stay long at all. By the time its 4-5 hours I don't smell the perfume on my skin at all. This composition works well for me. I will definitely keep this in mind for any of my future buys.

Price: INR 5400

Qty: 100ml

In the coming posts I will share my views on different terminologies of perfumes, how to choose a perfume for yourself, how to apply perfume for best results etc

Do drop in a note if you want me to talk anything specific about perfumes.

Review - Real Techniques - Your Eyes /Enhanced Starter Set - Eye Makeup Brushes

Follow me on Facebook

Which is most difficult part of your makeup?

1 - Perfect pout lips?
2 - Contoured cheeks?
3 - Gorgeous smokey eyes?

My vote goes to 3. I must admit I am not very good with my eye makeup. Since, what a sword is to a warrior, a good brush is to a makeup artist to get the precision and desired results. Trust me guys a good makeup brush makes a lot of difference and goes a long way.

I always was wanting to invest in a good get of eye makeup brushes. And for me is MAC and equivalent. I had tried many options from Vega. Lakme and Colorbar but none got even closer to what I wanted. Buying MAC would have been a super expensive affair.

Then I learnt about Real Technique brushes by Samantha Chapman. Did a lot of reading about it and one fine day ordered it online from https://www.iherb.com/

Read on to find more about the brushes and how it worked for me.

Review Bourjois Paris Easy Nail Art Kit, NOTD

I had been on a hunt for these silver or golden striping tape for ages now.  Every time I saw people doing magical nail art with these I envied them.

One fine day while randomly window shopping at Westside I came across this kit from Bourjois. The SA tried hard to sell the stickers to me but I was sold to the  silver striping tape. Even before I checked the price I knew I am buying it. To add to the adrenal rush going through me the SA proclaims this was the last piece on the rack. Nothing could stop me now. I headed straight to the billing counter.

Review MAC Dark Side , Swatches , LOTD

Follow me on Facebook

Winters are in and fashion takes a totally different turn. From bright yellows and oranges we head to deeper and darker colors. Sea blue / green, lemony yellows gets replaced by burgundy, grey and berries.

I got a winter tote from Zara for the winters. Check my post here ( I know it’s an oxymoron to even mention winter when you live in Mumbai. But we Mumbaikars love the thought of Mumbai getting cooler by even a couple of degrees and celebrate it ;P)

Review Sally Hansen Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color – 360 Diamonds and Rubies, NOTD

Follow me on Facebook

As the clock moves so does my roles. As the morning alarm go off I turn into a house wife, making ready breakfast, lunch box, setting the house right, making the bed. As the few hours move almost like a rapid avalanche, I start becoming my second role, of a corporate slave. Number crunching, presentations, emails and boardrooms. Evening again a house wife with the chores.  By night I turn into my favorite role, the blogger me. This is my ME time.

The point is, while I am playing these multiple roles there is one thing that faces the brunt of it. My lovely nails ofcourse. They need the perfect nail colors that are as tough as me. Sally Hansen Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color claimed to be really strong nail paints that last like a toughie, that do not chip and give way before the weekend. Coz that’s the only time I can paint them into fresh coat of nail color. That means something that last me 5 full weekdays and Saturday till I party and get back home.

Did Sally Hansen Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color pass my week long test?? Read on to find out.

Review MAC Cleanse off oil

Follow me on Facebook

In a makeup enthusiasts life the hunt for a good make up remover is eternal. There is always a search for something better or sometimes it’s trying something new, ‘just like that’. I myself have tried many brands of makeup remover. From drugstore brands to hi-end product but I somehow did not get myself to buy a MAC Makeup Remover. Although over a dozen friends recommended it and beauty blogs raved about it.

My only question was why on earth I should buy a makeup remover for big bucks when I can get one for 1/8 the price too. But till then I had not used MAC Cleanse Off oil. What did I like about MAC Cleanse Off Oil?? Why did I buy it, in spite of the big price tag? Read on….

Review Colorbar Emphaseyes Baked Eye Shadow - Night Star

Follow me on Facebook

Have you tried classic smokey eyes and ended up looking like this?

Hahaha... It has happened to me more than often, specially when I was learning my way to creating smokey eyes. It took me a lot of practice and patience to get it right. Till date I struggle to get it with precision. Who has the time to spend so much time on it? We need quick fixes.
Then I found Colorbar Emphaseyes Baked Eye Shadow - Night Star. Its few sweeps eyeshadow for sexy smokey eyes.

See it for yourself.

It's a wonderful single pot with black , grey , silver/ shimmer and a hue of brown. Perfect colors for classy smokey eyes in few simple swipes.

The color last for a good 6-7 hours. There is a little fall out problem but its manageable. It could be a superb day to night look transformer. The packaging is flimsy though. The lid looks fragile so I better watch my butter fingers

Summing it up:

What I like about Colorbar Emphaseyes Baked Eye Shadow - Night Star:
  • Love the color
  • Ease of use
  • Long lasting
  • Super utility product

What I don't like about Colorbar Emphaseyes Baked Eye Shadow - Night Star:
  • Packaging
  • Price

Overall : 4.7/5

Price: INR 600 (Expensive for Colorbar but great product)

Will I repurchase: Not needed. This will go a long way and I don't party everyday ;)

Have you used this? How do you like it?

Review - Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Extreme – Sheer Cherry

Follow me on Facebook

We all aspire to look like people who we label as beautiful or gorgeous. Our perspective of beautiful could be Aishwarya Rai’s Eyes, Jennifer Aniston’s Haircut, Deepika Padukone’s smile or may be Angelina Jolie’s Lips.

How to use.

Contents.

Coming to lips, we all secretly desire full, plump or even bee stung lips. Well not all opt for going under the knife and looks for easier alternative that may be temporary in nature. So what are the temp options?? Makeup, Makeup and Makeup. Either its lip gloss or highlighter on cupid’s bow.

Very classy packaging.

Well there is one more option that’s in between painful surgery and harmless make up. Yes, its Lips plumpers!!!! But the eternal question is, do they really work?? Let’s find out…..

Got it with the Vellvette Aug 13 box

In the Vellvette Box ( Bag ) August 2013 most of us got the Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Extreme . Mine is in the color Sheer Cherry. Like the name suggests it a very harmless looking sheer lipgloss with light reddish/ maroonish tint to it. But don’t forget it a lip plumper. It’s like a secret agent on a mission. It has more important task to do than just adding the shine to the lips.

I had heard that these plumpers sting mildly for a while but the results are fab. The sting gives you bee stung lips. So I wore on bare lips. And I felt I was attacked by a 1000 ants at a time on my lips. The sting was mild but very discomforting. I would take the pain but I certainly wanted to take it off. But I had to put it to test. Uffff…. So much for being a beauty blogger. It continued for a good 10 mins before it subsided.
But I must also tell you, strangely when I wore it again after a couple of days the sting was almost 1/4 compared to the first one. How?? Strange but that's the way it was.
Nice brush. Soft and supple.

Now the question is what was the result? Did I turn into Lara Croft? Well, certainly not.

But to what degree does it plump up the lips. I would say 5 to 7% max. So for this minuscule result are you willing to take the pain? I think I can achieve this degree of plumpful ness with a good sheer gloss too. I am certainly not going through this pain for a difference that’s not really prominent.
The color is very average that every other drug store brand makes so that will not drive me to use it too. This is certainly out of my vanity.

Swatch
The packaging is certainly very classy. I like the gold glam and the clear tube. The brush is of great quality , soft and picks the color easily.

What I like about Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Extreme – Sheer Cherry?
  1. Nothing
  2. I love Sally Hansen for its nail care stuff.
What I don’t like about Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Extreme – Sheer Cherry?
  1. I don’t like the sting. Certainly not worth the result.
  2. Color is very average.

This is how it looks on me.
Overall rating: I don’t think I should rate it. This is purely my opinion. Some may find even the small result helpful. But it doesn’t work for me.

Its a great product as a lip gloss , minus the sting for me. The packaging, the quality of gloss, the brush is great quality but the concept of lip plumper is void for me. To each its own. May work wonderfully for some and no no for other. Take your pick.

Price: INR 775/- 6ml

Availability:  Don’t think it’s easily available in India yet.

Review Rimmel Extra Super Lash Mascara

Follow me on Facebook

Mascara is one of my staple makeup products. In my post earlier of how I categorise picking my kinda mascara.

Today lets discuss Rimmel Extra Super Lash Mascara. When I got this mascara I tried using it without any prejudice. I found this mascara a pleasant surprise. Read on to know more.

It's a black mascara with fairly thick consistency of formula. The black isn't blackest black but does create an impact. The thickness is right enough to coat the lashes and appear thicker. But it doesn't clump the lashes at the same time. The formula holds the lashes well and curls too.

The packaging is not very fancy. Comes in a black container tube with black and silver sticker on it. What fascinates me about this mascara is the brush. The brush is in a curved shape like a crescent. It beautifully coats the lashes while curling it. Application becomes very easy. It reaches the root of the lash , all the way to the top. Size of the brush is good too. Almost half the size of lashline. So I can finish the application in 2 parts. Anything longer is annoying as it tends to poke my nose. The bristles are soft so they pick the mascara well and hard enough to hold the curl while application. So it strikes the right balance.

How it works on me: This mascara coats the lashes wonderfully without clumping it. It also curls the lashes well because of the curved brush. The color stays on for a good  8-10 hours whereas the curl stays for 4-5 hours before it falls flat.

What I like about Rimmel Extra Super Lash Mascara
  • Formula- Right thickness
  • Curved Brush and soft bristles
  • Longitivity
  • Packaging

What I don't like about Rimmel Extra Super Lash Mascara

  • Nothing at all.

Overall rating: 4.8/5

Price: INR 275 (Approx)

Here is how it looks on me.
